Gender Mainstreaming in Peace Operations Training Course
Introduction
To achieve truly effective and sustainable peace, it is crucial to recognize that conflicts and their resolutions impact men, women, boys, and girls differently. This 5-day training course on Gender Mainstreaming in Peace Operations provides participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills to integrate a gender perspective into every aspect of peace and security interventions. By moving beyond simply counting women, the course emphasizes how understanding gender roles, relations, and power dynamics can lead to more inclusive analysis, effective program design, and equitable outcomes, ultimately strengthening the overall impact and legitimacy of peace operations.
This intensive program is designed for military, police, and civilian personnel deploying to or serving in peace operations, as well as policymakers, humanitarian and development practitioners, and civil society actors working in conflict-affected contexts. It will equip attendees with the tools to conduct gender analysis, identify gender-specific needs and vulnerabilities, and implement gender-responsive strategies across various operational functions.
