Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) in Fragile Contexts Training Course
Introduction
Violent extremism poses an escalating threat to peace, security, and development, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. This 5-day training course on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) in Fragile Contexts offers a critical examination of the drivers, dynamics, and manifestations of violent extremism, while providing participants with comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based, human rights-compliant approaches to prevention and response. Participants will gain a deep understanding of multi-faceted strategies that move beyond security-centric solutions, emphasizing community resilience, inclusive governance, and addressing the root causes that make individuals and communities vulnerable to extremist ideologies.
This intensive program is designed for government officials, security sector actors, peacebuilding practitioners, development professionals, humanitarian aid workers, civil society leaders, and community representatives working in or preparing for roles in areas affected by violent extremism.
